Judith Scott papers 1954-1981

Judith Scott was a founding member along with Gus Giordano of Dance Inc.-Chicago. She was also an educator, teaching Modern Dance at the University of Jamaica in the West Indies, Northwestern University and Barnard College. Scott also formed Judith Scott Dance Company and performed pieces throughout the metropolitan New York area.

Judith Scott was born Judith Skwiot in Chicago, ca. 1937. She attended Mundelein College, where she received her degree in 1958, majoring in Theater and Psychology. She completed a Masters Degree in Dance Education at Northwestern. In 1963 she joined Gus Giordano in forming Dance Inc.-Chicago.
